Someone once said, "There comes a time in every rightly constructed boy's life that he has the insatiable desire to go and hunt for buried treasure."
All boys have an inward desire to live out an adventure, to explore the unknown, hunt for buried treasure, conquer against all odds, and to be someone’s hero. This is true for boys of all ages because each one of us has a God-given desire to discover, and to invent, to solve, and to triumph. It is how nations have been established, heroes identified, and problems mastered. Besides performing heroic deeds ourselves, each of us has a need to identify a hero in our own life — someone to learn from, to emulate and to respect. The purposes of Waypoint Ministry are to encourage fathers to be a hero to their sons, sons to appreciate their dads, and to mutually grow in our walk with God.
Take a moment to ponder these questions:
Who holds your admiration?
If you could spend a day with anyone in history, to learn from them and to glean from their wisdom, whom would you choose and why?
Would someone choose you?
The mission of Waypoint Ministry is four-fold:
To provide a venue where fathers and sons can build memories as they spend time together
Challenge young men to be leaders of character
To prepare young men to face the challenges of Christ-like living
